Description
Registered Nurse Cardiovascular
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care
Shift: Stepdown/PCU
Hours: 10 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients
- Documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders
- Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
- Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
- Delivering competent patient care and communicating care plans to patients and families
- Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- One completed travel assignment
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARRT certification
Skills
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills, including documentation in Epic and use of hemosystem Xper
Specialty & Clinical Focus
- Cardiovascular nursing with experience in STEMI, Shock, VAD, ECMO, and Structural Heart procedures
- Experience with imaging equipment such as Phillips and Siemens systems

- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
