Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Unit: Operating Room (12 suites)
• Average Cases per Day: Approximately 30 (including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, ophthalmology, vascular, plastic surgery)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN circulator preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid driver’s license with an address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (license must be included with application)

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Charge Nurse role: RN in charge of each shift; Nursing Supervisor available 24/7
• Work collaboratively with OR technicians (ORTs)
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs in this role
• Call shifts are required for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts are 8 hours and rotate
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Floating may be required to Endoscopy if not needed in Surgery
• Orientation: 2-4 shifts on unit, 10-hour days; includes weekend and evening/night call training
• Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided via vending machine
• Scheduling: No self-scheduling; employees may coordinate call shifts among themselves

Additional Notes

• Must comply with a 2-year break between permanent employment at the local health system and travel assignments
• Only one job submission allowed at a time within the local health system area
