Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Rumford, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7pm–7am)
Hours per Week: 36 (weekend hours every other weekend required)
Call Requirements: None

Facility & Unit Overview

• Critical access hospital with 25 beds
• Level 3 Trauma Center
• Emergency Department with patient ratio approximately 1:2.5
• Small hospital serving a wide geographic area; only hospital within 40 miles of a trauma center
• Patient population includes all ages and a broad range of illnesses and injuries
• Electronic Health Records systems used: Cerner, Omnicell, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

• Provide care for all patient ages and a wide variety of medical conditions and injuries
• Work in a fast-paced, critical access hospital emergency department
• Maintain high skill level due to diverse and complex patient population
• No float requirements

• Located in Rumford, ME, near the Androscoggin River and Rumford Falls (highest waterfall drop east of Niagara Falls)
