Description
Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float between Intermediate Care (IMC), Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation units as needed.
- Patient population includes hip fractures, osteomyelitis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, bowel obstructions, and general medical/surgical cases.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility environment.
Schedule & Work Requirements
- 3 night shifts per week (7 PM to 7 AM)
- Weekends every other week (EOW)
- Holidays as needed
- No call requirements
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Experience in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation units.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- I-9 attestation and E-Verify compliance required.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (must be current within 30 days of start).
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) search required 3 business days prior to start and renewed every 5 years.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
- Two professional references within 3 years required.
- Most recent resume or employment application required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
- Pass/fail Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of contract signing.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required within 48 hours of contract signing.
- NURSYS verification for RN license required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP.
- Fit mask testing within 1 year of start, updated annually; specific approved mask types required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; chest X-ray required if TB positive.
- Vaccination or positive titer required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted).
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted.
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (requirement for agency only, not facility).
Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge with clear, professional appearance.
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
- Commitment to Health & Wellness.
- Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality Agreement.
- Non-Employee Affidavit.
- Hepatitis B declination form if applicable.
- Safety and Security Vehicle Registration.
- Review of facility policies such as "Wellspan Way Description."
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to or on first day of orientation (cannot be completed on cell phones).
- New Hire Orientation required by end of first day.
Additional Notes
- Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine fit before manager interview.
- Floating between units is mandatory as needed.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free environment; candidates must be notified prior to submission.
