Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position in a Behavioral Health Unit on the 3rd floor of a regional hospital.
• Adult patient population with common diagnoses including Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Personality Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis (primary mental health).
• 16-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Use of Vitals Machine, EMAR, Omnicell, and Med Host EHR system.
• 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Every-other weekend rotation; no call requirements.
• RN may be floated to other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an inpatient setting, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

Work Environment & Culture

• Scrubs required; no specific color mandated.
• Unit supports a young, active community with access to outdoor activities and local cultural events.
• Fit testing for respiratory protection offered on-site.

Additional Information

• Weekly orientations provided.
• Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel.
• Weekend and float requirements apply.
