Description
Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Nights
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely).
- Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; hours are not guaranteed.
- Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
Patient Care Ratios
- Medical Unit: 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio at night (1:6 during days and evenings).
- Laulima Unit: 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Minimum of 2 years of stepdown nursing experience, with stepdown experience within the last year.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience floating between units.
- Medical-surgical nursing experience.
Orientation and Onboarding
- Orientation provided for each unit floated to.
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Additional Information
- Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted.
- Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).
