    Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

    Location: Santa Monica, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Work primarily in an ASC outpatient clinic with required floating to the Main OR as needed.
    • Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing in the OR (SCRUB required).
    • Patient ratio: 1:1
    • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
    • Weekend work: Not required
    • On-call: Not required
    • Block scheduling: Possible, at manager’s discretion
    • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

    Facility & Work Environment

    • Acute Care Hospital with 266 staffed beds
    • Beachside location
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Scrub color for RNs: Navy Blue
    • Parking available with associated costs

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check: Must be completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; includes SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and more.
    • Education Verification: Nursing degree verification required; international education requires additional documentation.
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; 7 years required for APN/Subcontractors.
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
    • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
    • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable).
    • Immunizations & Health Requirements:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates; involves virtual questionnaire reviewed by healthcare professional.
    • Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates; onsite fit testing scheduled during orientation. PAPR not accepted in OR.
    • Annual Regulatory and Specialty-Specific Training Modules via LMS required.

    Additional Notes

    • Pending licenses are not accepted.
    • Float Policy Acknowledgement required due to floating between units.
    • No prior travel experience required.
    • Background checks and other compliance documents must be current and uploaded as per facility requirements.
    • Facility-specific badge photo required.
