Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Westminster, California
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide critical care to patients with conditions such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, respiratory distress, and other severe medical issues.
• Assess patient conditions and develop/implement care plans.
• Treat wounds and provide advanced life support.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs.
• Ensure proper functioning and adjustment of ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and other medical equipment.
• Administer intravenous fluids and medications.
• Perform suctioning as needed.
• Collaborate with the critical care team.
• Respond to life-saving situations using established nursing standards and protocols.
• Act as a patient advocate and provide education and support to patient families.
• Care for pre- and post-operative patients.
• May perform case management, policy making, or administrative duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
