Description
Job Opportunity: Nurse (Ortho/Neuro Unit Nights)
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
- Document patient care according to standards.
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
- May be required to float to other units.
- Work every other weekend and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience, with recent Med Surg experience within the last year
- Neurology experience
- Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- BLS certification
Additional Information
- 12-hour night shifts.
- Travel RN may be required to float to other units.
This position is suitable for experienced nurses seeking a contract role on a night shift in an Ortho/Neuro unit.
