NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Hickory, North Carolina

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (NICU Level III and/or Level IV)
• Location: Hickory, North Carolina
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), minimum every other weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun)
• Schedule Flexibility: Option to flex to a 4th shift if needed/available; overtime after 48 hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• EMR System: Meditech experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• STABLE certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check within one year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required October 1 - April 1 (or approved exemption)
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completion of skills checklist annually for applicable unit

Additional Notes

• Blocked schedule requests will be considered
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Must include a cover sheet and current NURSYS report with application
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable, with passing scores

This position is ideal for experienced NICU RNs seeking a travel contract with night shifts in a Level III/IV NICU setting.
