Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU (Cardiac Care Unit)
Location
- Lafayette, Indiana

- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Unit: Cardiac Care (2S CCU)
- Number of beds: 27
- Patient ratios: 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
- Shift options: Day (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or Night (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Based on low census; no extra call required
- EMR system: Epic
Patient Population
- Cardiac/post-op cardiac patients
- Medical ICU overflow
Equipment Used
- EKOS catheter
- Balloon pump
- Oxygenator (OH)
- Impella device
- IV pumps
- Transvenous pacers
- Cardiac monitors
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Ventilators
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Cardiac ICU and/or step-down/progressive care units
Personality Fit
- Hardworking, punctual, reliable, outgoing
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Navy blue for RN
- Prohibited attire: Sweatshirts or T-shirts
- Facial piercings must be removed or covered with flesh-colored coverings
Additional Notes
- Prior critical care experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs
