Description
Ultrasonographer (Diagnostic Imaging) - Contract
Location: Bangor, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
- Operate medical imaging equipment to perform ultrasound examinations for diagnostic purposes.
- Select appropriate machine settings and guide patients into positions for optimal imaging.
- Obtain high-quality images for Radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize PACS (Picture Archive Communication System) and EPIC for image management and documentation.
- Perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes according to policy.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide ultrasound guidance during special procedures and consult with Radiologists as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and notify Clinical Engineering when necessary.
- Verify patient identification using two established identifiers and confirm clinical history and orders.
Required Qualifications
- Valid ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging specialty.
Additional Information
- Orientation up to 16 hours (unpaid).
- Employer may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility will receive a reduced local rate.
