Description
Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Day
Location: Chico, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Shift: Day shifts (8- or 10-hour shifts) starting at 6:30 AM, with alternating weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Provide direct patient care as a first assistant to the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite.
- Perform an expanded perioperative nursing role with knowledge, skills, and judgment acquired through organized instruction and supervised practice.
- Practice under the supervision of the surgeon.
- Position requires credentialing through the medical staff office (minimum 6-8 week processing time).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of First Assist experience
- First Assist experience within the last year
- Perioperative experience
Additional Information
- Agency staff must be W-2 employees of their agency.
- Med/Surg and Critical Care RNs in this setting are required to float as needed.
