    ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - West Hollywood, California


    Job Overview

    • Position: ICU Registered Nurse (Float Pool)
    • Location: West Hollywood, California
    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3 shifts per week, 36 hours total)
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Floating Requirement: Yes, will float to Med Surg, Telemetry, PCU, Overflow PACU, Stepdown, and other units as needed
    • Weekend Requirement: Yes
    • Scheduling: No scheduling requests accommodated; maximum 7 days off allowed; no return to work within first 2 weeks

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
    • ACLS certification
    • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
    • PA line experience
    • Experience working at a hospital with 400 beds or larger

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID required
    • Background check within 6 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, federal district court search, and international criminal searches if applicable
    • Highest level of education verification required
    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
    • Fit mask test within 1 year (updated annually)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; if history of positive, additional documentation required
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
      • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella (with booster if titers negative/equivocal)
      • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
      • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (with booster or proof of disease history if negative)
      • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); documentation mandatory for candidates starting after Oct 13
    • Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding Marijuana/THC)
    • Two professional references required (one supervisory)

    Competency & Testing

    • Medication and pharmacology competency exam required (minimum 80% passing score, 2 attempts allowed)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required; includes on-site exam during orientation (3 attempts allowed)
    • Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation for ICU/Float Pool and other specified units
    • Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification check

    Additional Notes

    • Fire card training/course required onsite during orientation (must be issued by the facility)
    • Photo for badge must meet strict requirements (passport-style photo, centered face, bright lighting, plain background, no filters or accessories)
    • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct, Attendance Policy, Job Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Practices, Social Media Policy, and Scheduling Guidelines
    • No telecommuting or remote work options for this position

    This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with floating across multiple critical care and stepdown units, working night shifts, and meeting rigorous facility and compliance standards.
