Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

  • Includes call rotation

Job Summary

  • Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care in the Operating Room.
  • Accountable for care of a group of patients.
  • Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and participate in quality improvement.
  • Mentor and precept staff.
  • Use the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Focus on patient/family comfort, education, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to interventions.
  • Provide and evaluate patient and family education during stay and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Acute care nursing experience

This position is suitable for experienced acute care RNs seeking a clinical role in the Operating Room with leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
