Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Joplin, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit: Medical ICU, 24 beds
- Patient Types: Medical, surgical, trauma, stroke patients
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2; may vary between 1:1 and 1:3 depending on acuity and staffing
- Equipment: IV pumps, chest tubes, GE monitoring, Artic Sun, glucometers, feeding pumps
- EMR System: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS
- TNCC
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Ability to titrate complex intravenous medications including vasopressors
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Experience working in a Level II trauma, STEMI, and stroke center environment
- Comfortable managing very complex patients
- Personality fit: Flexible, dependable, strong teamwork, patient-centered, quality-driven
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; no declinations or exceptions accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no t-shirts or sweatshirts unless approved
