Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive case management including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient needs.
  • Focus on enhancing patient management quality, satisfaction, continuity of care, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Responsibilities include case management, utilization review, and discharge planning.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable to frequent changes, and compliant with regulatory and departmental policies.
  • Average daily census: 70 on weekends, 20 on weekdays.
  • Orientation: 24 hours.
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts). No call required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 4 years of case management experience, including case management experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience working in an acute care setting.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG screenings required and must be current.
  • Education verification and primary source license verification must be completed within 90 days of start.
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start. Instant drug screens may be used as placeholders if standard results are pending.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (titer not accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Varicella vaccination, positive titer, or documented history.
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series with positive titer or declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval).
    • COVID-19 vaccination proof if vaccinated (requirement may be waived if unvaccinated).
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
  • Fit mask testing required for certain roles; can be completed onsite.
  • Annual training acknowledgments for OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission required.

Additional Information

  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.
  • Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the hiring manager.
  • Must include Return to Office (RTO) information in submission to be honored at time of offer.
  • Facility-specific LMS modules must be completed during orientation.
