    Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

    Location: Castro Valley, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab nursing. This is a day shift position (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) with a 40-hour workweek.


    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology, with experience within the last year
    • Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)
    • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
    • Work history verification up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
    • Professional references: 2 for clinical positions within 3 years
    • Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • Immunizations and/or titers for:
      • Tuberculosis (negative test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually)
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella (chickenpox)
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
    • Color blindness exam (in-person, if applicable)
    • Respiratory safety clearance, renewed annually

    Additional Information

    • ICU and MS/Telemetry RNs at certain locations may be required to take an EKG competency exam onsite after start
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
    • Candidates must be prepared to work in unpredictable and high-risk situations
    • Religious and medical exemptions for immunizations and fit testing may be considered with proper documentation and approval
