Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Burbank, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Call Requirements:
- 4-6 call shifts within a 6-week period (includes weekend calls)
- Call hours: Monday-Friday 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Only to cover call shifts
- Floating: May be required to float between like units at manager’s discretion
- First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually for travel staff; may be completed onsite if no recent record available
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated staff must follow infection prevention policies
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)
Background and Verification Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested (minimum 5 years verified work history)
Training and Competency
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp) required
- Medication competency exam and other competency exams as applicable to specialty
- Epic system training modules required as applicable
Additional Notes
- On-call shifts may be called off once per two-week pay period
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
- Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
