Description

Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM


Job Description

  • Work on an Acuity Adaptable Unit (not a pure ICU unit)
  • Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) required
  • Must have 2 years of ICU experience (highest requirement)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in good standing with verification via Nursys within 30 days prior to start
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA)
  • Completion of specialty competency exam with minimum 80% passing score (updated every 3 years)
  • Successful completion of Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score (updated every 3 years)
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match requirements)
  • Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (optional, but mask required if declined during flu season)
    • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Completion of onboarding education and attestations specific to nursing contingent workers
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and EPLS within 90 days prior to start
  • Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days prior to start
  • At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment

Additional Information

  • Must complete Ascension-specific onboarding requirements including color vision test, skills checklist, and EKG exam (passing score of 80%, two attempts allowed)
  • Onsite onboarding required
  • Must be able to provide a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations)
  • Resume/profile must be submitted prior to assignment
  • Assignments require signed agreements and confirmation documents
  • Post-assignment evaluations and optional name change documentation may be requested

This position is suitable for experienced ICU RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable working in adaptable acuity settings and floating within a 40-mile radius.
