Description
Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit
- Care for interventional cardiac patients including pre/post invasive and diagnostic procedures such as cardioversion, angiogram, elective PCI, EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement), pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip, and post-op recovery for structural heart procedures (same-day discharge)
- Procedures include TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, sheath removal, epicardial pacer management
- Telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
Schedule
- Day shift: 3 shifts per week, 10 hours each (11:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
- No weekends, no holidays, no call required
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Stepdown experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Experience in telemetry nursing
- Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Strong IV skills including sheath pull experience and management of stable drips
- Must be flexible and willing to float to like units (floating required)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license valid in Washington State or compact license honored by Washington
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification (nursing degree)
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual requirement for travel candidates)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS platform
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- References: Minimum 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps
- Float policy acknowledgment required
Notes
- Locals are eligible to apply
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- No weekend, holiday, or call shifts required
- Floating to similar units is mandatory, so flexibility is essential
