Registered Nurse - PCU (Seattle, Washington) - Travel/Contract
Job Details
- Location: Seattle, Washington
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 10 hours each (11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Unit: Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit (Pre/Post invasive and diagnostic procedures)
- Floating: Required to float to like units; flexibility needed
- Schedule Restrictions: No weekends, no holidays, no call
Job Description
- Care for interventional cardiac patients including:
- Pre/post invasive/diagnostic procedures (angiogram, elective PCI)
- Cardioversion and defibrillation
- EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement)
- Pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip procedures and post-op recovery for same-day structural heart patients
- Skills required:
- IV skills, sheath removal experience
- Management of stable drips
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Telemetry interpretation
- Blood/blood product administration
- Procedure sedation
- Epicardial pacer management
- Heparin and insulin administration
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with interventional cardiac procedures
- Proficient IV skills and sheath pull experience
- Experience managing stable drips and dysrhythmia management
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience in PCU - Progressive Care Unit settings
