    Description

    Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology

    Location: Los Angeles, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    • Work schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
    • No weekend, floating, or on-call requirements
    • Must be flexible as schedule may change based on clinic needs
    • Highly proficient in Epic electronic health record system
    • Strong back-office oncology knowledge required, including familiarity with oncology medications and treatment workflows
    • Prior infusion experience preferred
    • Excellent injection and IV insertion skills required

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience
    • Hematology/Oncology experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
    • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification
    • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID required
    • Background check within 6 months of start date, including:
      • 7-year county residence history
      • Nationwide criminal search
      • Sex offender search
      • Federal district court search
      • International criminal search if applicable
    • Education verification of highest level completed
    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
    • Fit test for N95 or equivalent respirators within 1 year, updated annually
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; additional requirements if history of positive TB
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
      • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella
      • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
      • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of disease history)
      • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required for flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
    • Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
    • Two professional references required, at least one supervisory

    Competency and Testing Requirements

    • Medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% passing score
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (time sensitive; multiple attempts allowed)
    • Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation (specific units only)
    • Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification verification as applicable

    Additional Notes

    • No scheduling requests can be accommodated
    • Pending licenses are not accepted; license must be active at submission
    • Photo for badge must meet strict facility requirements (passport-style photo)
    • Must review and sign facility-specific policies including code of conduct, job hazard analysis, social media policy, and attendance policy
    • EPIC proficiency is a special requirement for this role
