Radiology Technologist - CT

Location: Wrangell, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Shift: May need to cover day or night shifts, and be on-call

Job Summary

• Perform radiographic CT examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
• Provide diagnostic medical radiography/sonography within the department and other areas.
• Maintain patient records and files.
• Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
• Transfer patients to and from radiology.
• Rotate shifts as required and be willing to take call, reporting to work within 20 minutes.
• Assist with invasive procedures and preparation in CT/interventional area.
• Consult with referring physicians and adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
• Perform venipuncture and operate automatic contrast injectors.
• Maintain competency in multiple imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography) and be willing to work outside primary modality.
• Assist in supply inventory and ordering.
• Perform daily/weekly quality control.
• Serve as a lead technologist when required, including scheduling, staff support, and problem-solving.

• Geriatric Adult (70+ years)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Current ARRT or ARDMS certification.
• Radiology Technologist experience.
• Demonstrated CT experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of radiation protection principles and professional judgment in procedure performance.
• Competent in sterile technique and tele-radiology transmission.
• Ability to alter protocols based on patient age and condition.
• Ability to work well under stress and in diverse cultural and religious environments.
• Willingness to learn and maintain competency in ancillary imaging modalities.
• Strong customer service orientation aligned with organizational mission and values.

Additional Requirements

• Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility location to be eligible.
• Must be willing and able to take call and report within 20 minutes.

Certifications (Preferred/Additional)

• ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP (not mandatory but noted in additional info)
