Description
Respiratory Therapist - Omaha, Nebraska
Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
- Patient Population: All ages (neonates to geriatrics)
- Work Setting: Inpatient, covering all areas and floors
- Scheduling: Team scheduling; weekend coverage every third day (days) and every other night; holiday rotation with permanent staff
- Orientation: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, unit/department specific
- Floating: Required to float to different hospital areas within RT capacity
- Support: Respiratory Lead Therapist on each shift; not the only RT in-house; hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience required
- Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry
- Driver’s license required at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
- Must comply with fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
Equipment Experience
- Ventilators: Drager, Servo I, Carefusion (Heliox and NICU use only)
- Bipap: Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T
- High Flow: Airvo2
Additional Information
- Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain healthcare systems
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals
- Key attributes for success: time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn
