Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • On-call requirement: 1-2 days per week, including 1 weekend per month
  • Holiday on-call as applicable
  • Potential to float to general OR and cardiac cases at a nearby facility
  • Must be able to scrub and circulate for all types of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) cases
  • Charting system used: Cerner (Surginet)
  • Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license valid in Pennsylvania at time of submission
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required
  • Ability to scrub and circulate in the OR
  • Charge nurse experience preferred

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, PA PATCH search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education verification (official transcript acceptable; diploma not accepted)
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results within 12 months of start date
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 12 months of start date
  • Physical exam within 2 months of start
  • Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1870+ model) within 12 months prior to start (must be completed before start)
  • Current Tdap vaccine or titer
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days of start) or chest X-ray if positive test
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella as per facility policy
  • 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)
  • COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start; exemptions require mask-wearing at work
  • Pass/fail dysrhythmia exam during orientation (one attempt only)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing acknowledgment

Additional Information

  • Two professional references within 2 years of start required
  • Skills checklist must be updated annually
  • Facility-specific education modules (~6 hours) assigned and must be completed prior to orientation (not required for this specific facility)

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required
  • Candidate must be able to meet on-call and holiday on-call requirements
  • Facility will not allow candidates to start without all required background checks and clearances on file
  • Fingerprinting results must be current and on file prior to start
  • Fit testing is mandatory and must be completed before starting the assignment

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Registered Nurses with trauma experience who are comfortable with on-call duties and working in a fast-paced surgical environment.
