Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
  • Guaranteed hours vary by shift pattern:
    • 3 shifts of 12 hours = 36 hours/week
    • 4 shifts of 12 hours = 48 hours/week
    • 8 or 10 hour shifts also available totaling 40 hours/week
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted
  • Pending state license not accepted; Indiana state license and required certifications must be in hand before starting

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background checks within 90 days of start, including:
    • 7-year residential/work history

    • FACIS Level III
    • Education verification (may be pending at start if previously cleared)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Official transcript or diploma verifying education (may be pending at start)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start (approved respirators only)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
  • Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
  • Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
  • Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory or managerial titles required)
  • Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30+ days over the past 7 years

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific orientation packets and compliance checklists prior to start
  • HIPAA acknowledgment updated annually
  • Self-study orientation and test must be completed at least 1 week prior to start
  • Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments are time sensitive and must be prioritized

Additional Notes

  • On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and requires prior approval
  • PAPR use requires facility approval before start
  • Candidates must upload all required documentation timely to avoid delays

This position offers a structured night shift schedule with guaranteed hours and requires a fully licensed and nationally certified RRT with current immunizations and compliance documentation. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome to apply.
