    Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

    Location: Torrance, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
    • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every 4 weeks
    • On-Call: Yes
    • Territory: Los Angeles County, with a travel radius of 5-20 miles
    • Caseload: 5-6 patients per day
    • Pay Model: Hourly (not per visit)
    • Start Time: Must start promptly at 8:00 AM as per contract
    • Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
    • Mileage: Reimbursed per IRS standard

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Home Health nursing experience within the last year
    • Experience with OASIS in a Home Health setting
    • BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
    • Harassment Prevention Training
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Required Documentation & Compliance

    • References: Two supervisor/manager references within the last year (one from current or most recent employer, second from second most recent). One reference from a Charge RN is acceptable. Candidates may start with one reference pending approval.
    • Background Checks:
      • Standard background check including SS trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide sex offender check, and DMV search (required for Home Health RNs)
      • Education verification or diploma/transcript required
      • Monthly updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
    • Health Requirements:
      • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific N95 masks required)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
      • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
      • Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (Marijuana/THC panel no longer required starting 1/1/24)
      • Seasonal flu vaccination required for 2025-2026 season (no exemptions accepted after 10/24/25)
      • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination form required
    • Other Required Training/Certifications:
      • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
      • Competency exam in specialty with minimum score of 80% (updated every 3 years)
    • Facility-Specific Documents: Must review and sign various policies and acknowledgments prior to start, including:

    Additional Notes

    • Proof of valid driver’s license (front and back copy) required due to travel demands
    • Proof of auto insurance required and must be maintained if driving for work
    • Candidates must comply with flu and COVID vaccination policies or approved exemptions before start
    • Candidates must be punctual and adhere strictly to scheduled start times and shift requirements

    This position is ideal for experienced Home Health RNs with prior travel experience in this specialty, who are comfortable managing a high volume caseload within Los Angeles County.
