Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a medical/surgical unit.
- Work the night shift (7 PM to 7:30 AM).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- MOAB Moderate Risk certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid driver’s license.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings including:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes.
- If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
- Annual 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of a statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
- Skills checklist for specialty completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation required.
