Occupational Therapist - Contract Position

Location: Petaluma, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours per week

Position Overview

Provide individualized occupational therapy services to patients in a skilled nursing facility setting. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement therapy plans that improve patients' functional independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, and emotional needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Deliver direct therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment training, and cognitive training.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Educate patients and families on home safety, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.
• Document patient progress and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Stay current with best practices and new treatment methodologies in occupational therapy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, including experience within the last year
