Description
Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (Night Shift)
Job Description
- Bedside patient care position
- Requires experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- Medical/Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Other
- Valid Driver’s License
Health & Safety Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional)
- MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
- Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
- Tdap: Within last 10 years or agency-specific declination form required
- Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or agency-specific declination form required
- TB Test: Must have one of the following within required timeframes:
- Two PPD skin tests (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or
- One Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months
- For past positive TB tests, chest x-ray within 12 months may be required
- Fit Test: Must be completed within the last 12 months prior to start; annual requirement; on-site fit testing available if needed
- Physical/Health Statement: Must be within past 12 months, including clearance with no restrictions, vital signs, height, weight, and vision test
Documentation & Onboarding Requirements
- State license verification completed within 30 days prior to start
- Valid US driver’s license or state ID (not expired)
- Agency background check within 30 days of start, including SSN address trace, county and national criminal searches, and FACIS 3 check
- 7 Instant Background Checks (manual upload required)
- Agency drug screen (9+ panel excluding marijuana)
- Centralus resume accounting for all employment and gaps in last 7 years, with education history
- Two professional references: one supervisor reference from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer reference from last 3 years
- Signed and dated job description
- Verification of most recent employer (agency verification required)
- Centralus Health Personal Information Form, Code of Conduct, Confirmation of Assignment Form, Self Study Packet Documentation and Quiz, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, and Parking Registration Form (all found in Document Library)
- Color headshot photo (JPEG, no filters, solid background)
Additional Notes
- All certifications and required documents must not expire during the assignment
- Annual updates required for certain certifications and tests
- Must comply with all health and safety protocols and documentation requirements prior to start
This position offers a challenging night shift role providing direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit with a focus on bedside nursing and use of Epic EHR.
