Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Santa Monica, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work setting: Main Operating Room (OR)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Total hours per week: 36
- On-call requirement: Yes
- 2 primary weekday calls (10:30 PM – 6:00 AM) in a 6-week call cycle
- 2 secondary weekday calls (10:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
- 2 primary weekend calls (one 12-hour day shift, either 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 6:00 AM) on Saturday or Sunday
- 2 secondary weekend calls (one 12-hour day shift, same times as above) on Saturday or Sunday
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
- Facility is an acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds, located beachside
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color for RNs: Navy Blue
- Parking available (fees apply)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications (Must be current and valid)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Other certifications as required by unit or specialty (verify via credentialing system)
Additional Requirements
- Background checks include SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, education verification, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and international background if applicable
- Facility-specific documents such as badge photo required
- Epic training modules must be completed as assigned
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required (may float to other nearby facilities)
- Must comply with all state-specific licensing and background check requirements
