Description
RN NICU Nurse Manager
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Oversee the clinical nursing environment in the NICU, including strategic planning, daily operations, and standards of care.
- Facilitate collaborative problem-solving and shared decision-making.
- Advocate for resources and implement organizational vision and values.
- Manage budgets, employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and competency verification.
- Partner with physicians to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals.
- Support activities of student nurses and encourage staff participation in community health initiatives.
- Monitor and improve patient satisfaction using service metrics and national benchmarks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see, read, and assess patient needs and equipment.
- Frequent verbal communication and quick response to alarms and emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity for handling complex equipment and frequent computer use.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients, including handling heavy items and navigating busy environments.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transport.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Demonstrated resource management skills.
