NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Apple Valley, California
Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Apple Valley, California
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:00 - 6:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 212
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: Free
Unit Information
- NICU Level III with approximately 190 births per month
- Weekend shifts scheduled every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
- No floating between units required
- No on-call required
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 1 year of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Weekend shifts every other weekend, may exceed based on unit needs
- No block scheduling accommodations
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and approved based on facility needs
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Completion of annual regulatory and facility-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Must comply with float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to nearby facilities)
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start date

- Local radius for travel assignments is 50 miles
- No prior travel experience required for this position
