    Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Assignment

    Location: San Diego, California
    Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Clinical Nursing)
    Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
    Hours per Week: 36


    Job Summary

    Provide individualized, age-appropriate nursing care to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients and their families. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safe and therapeutic care. Collaborate with healthcare team members to manage complex or high-risk clinical situations and advocate for patient and family needs.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Assess patient and family needs, prioritizing both overt and subtle concerns.
    • Develop and document individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    • Implement and adapt nursing interventions based on patient response and clinical guidelines.
    • Evaluate progress toward goals and adjust care plans accordingly.
    • Identify and address patient and family educational needs using adult learning principles.
    • Serve as a patient and family advocate, promoting participation in decision-making and upholding rights.
    • Communicate care needs and patient status through proper documentation.
    • Delegate tasks appropriately within the scope of practice of other healthcare team members.
    • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to support patient well-being and workflow efficiency.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including experience within the last year
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Contract Length

    • Approximately 13 weeks.
