Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel Job - Indiana, Lafayette
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
- Location: Lafayette, Indiana
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts per week (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Call Requirement: Yes, 10 call shifts per month including weekends

Job Description / Responsibilities
- Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI required
- Comfortable using Electrophysiology (EP) devices
- Procedures involved:
- Impella insertion
- Left and Right heart catheterization
- Rotablader
- Pacemaker/defibrillator device placement
- Stents
- Thrombectomy
- Balloon Angioplasty
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Indiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI
- Comfortable using Electrophysiology (EP) devices
- Availability for on-call shifts, including 10 shifts per month with weekend call included
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Indiana (must be verified online within 30 days before start)
Required Documents & Verifications
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background Check within 90 days of start, including:
- 7 years residence/work history
- SSN Trace
- County, Statewide, and National Sex Offender checks
- FACIS Level III
- Education Verification (may be pending at start if needed)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript or Diploma (official, indicating degree and graduation date)
- Employment Application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above)
- Skills Checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit competency exam
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, 100% score required)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators) - on-site fit testing limited and requires approval
- Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start; if positive, chest X-ray and documentation required
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine preferred but not required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
Additional Information
- Must complete facility-specific compliance, confidentiality, orientation, and policy documents prior to start
- No New Year’s Eve shifts required
- Call rotation includes weekends
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
