Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (PM Shift)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Medical/Surgical specialty for a PM shift.


Required Qualifications

  • License: Current, active RN license valid in Ohio.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing (defaulting to higher if conflicting data present).
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
    • Completion of ECG exam with certificate upload prior to assignment start.
  • Health Requirements:
    • Fit test for N95 respirator or PAPR (annual requirement).
    • Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required before starting.
      • Hepatitis B – series of 3 vaccinations, positive titer, or declination accepted.
      • Varicella – 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required before starting.
      • Tuberculosis (TB) test – QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test completed within required timeframe.
    • Physical/Health statement within 1 year.
  • Background and Screening:
    • Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start, including 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions.
    • 9-panel drug screen completed within 60 days prior to start (marijuana excluded).
  • Professional Requirements:
    • Two professional references from charge nurse or higher within last 2 years.
    • Highest level of education verified (transcripts or third-party verification accepted).
    • Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID matching profile address.
  • Compliance and Training:
    • Completion of internal competency checklist within 2 weeks of start.
    • Annual compliance training module completed and certificate uploaded.
    • Skills checklist current and completed within 12 months prior to start.
  • Additional Testing (Optional but Recommended):
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification (for Neuro or Inpatient RNs).
    • Specialty and Pharmacology exams with 80% pass rate (recommended annually).

Important Notes

  • Candidate’s legal name and address on all licenses must match government-issued ID.
  • Some immunization declinations accepted only with medical or religious exemptions and depending on patient population.
  • Flu vaccine is optional but may be required seasonally with exemptions considered case-by-case.
  • All onboarding requirements must be completed prior to or shortly after assignment start to maintain compliance.

This position requires a dedicated RN with solid Medical/Surgical experience, strong compliance with health and safety protocols, and readiness to work a night shift in a hospital setting.
