- Shift: Day shift, Tuesday through Saturday
- Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours = 40 hours per week)
Job Description
- Acute Care Physical Therapist role in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient populations and clinical areas include:
- Emergency Room (ER)
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Geriatrics
- Medical Surgical
- Orthopedics
- Post Stroke Rehabilitation
- Key responsibilities and skills:
- Acute care interventions
- Home Exercise Programs
- Lifting and Transfer techniques
- Patient and Family Education
- Range of Motion therapies (AROM/AAROM/PROM)
- Use of assistive devices (crutches, gait belt, hospital bed, standard walker)
- Pain assessment and management
- Skin integrity monitoring
- Strength testing and vital signs monitoring
- Discharge planning, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments
- Setting short-term goals
- Gait training
- Experience with conditions such as COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, hip and knee injuries, total hip and knee replacements

Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (required)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, Management of Assaultive Behavior, and others may be required based on clinical track and unit assignment (verify with credentialing team)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual requirement for travel candidates)
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
Additional Information
- Facility may call off staff once per two-week pay period
- Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- Badge photo required for identification
- Epic training modules required for access to electronic health records
