Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Schedule Details: Every other weekend; no on-call required; may float to Labor & Delivery as a baby nurse.

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Continual Reassessment.
• Serve as a patient advocate.
• Coordinate care effectively.
• Promote safety and clinical/service quality in daily practice.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of Post Partum nursing experience
• Post Partum nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• No on-call duties.
• May float to Labor & Delivery to assist as a baby nurse.
• Required to review and sign facility-specific documents including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
• TB screening questionnaire must be completed and signed by candidate and healthcare provider (MD, PA, NP/APN, DO, or RN).
• Religious exemptions for vaccines and facial hair (fit test) may be considered with proper documentation and approval.
• Pending background check attestations are generally not accepted; conditional clearances require facility approval.
• Photo for badge required for per diem candidates only.

This position requires a dedicated RN with neonatal resuscitation certification and the ability to work night shifts in a mother-baby/postpartum setting, with compliance to extensive background, health, and competency requirements.
