Description

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Arlington, Virginia
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3 shifts of 12 hours per week)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Patient Population: High-risk Labor & Delivery unit with 16 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 6 antepartum rooms, and 3 ORs; Level 3 NICU; all OB patients >20 weeks gestation; teaching facility with resident coverage
Typical Cases: Preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, PPROM, multiples, fetal anomalies, cardiac defects in mother or baby, scheduled and add-on C-sections (OR team handles daytime cases), external cephalic versions during the day
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
Call: No call required
Medication Management System: Omnicell
Documentation System: EPIC and OBTV
Communication Method: SBAR
Scrubs: Provided
EPIC Training: Stork/OB class required


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
  • ACLS (American Heart Association only)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • Circulating skillset in Labor & Delivery
