Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a Level 2 Trauma Center and Level 1 Comprehensive Stroke Center emergency department. Care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities. Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments and maintain professional accountability in accordance with nursing standards and state regulations.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Night (1800-0600)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: Every third weekend or as required
- Call: None
- Orientation: Night shift nurses orient on day shift; availability for full week orientation required

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including trauma experience
- Emergency Department experience within the last year
Job Responsibilities
- Perform nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Provide care for all age groups in the emergency setting
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by self and others
- Coordinate care with other departments
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Adhere to facility mission, values, and service standards
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination required from November 1 through April 1; declinations not accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no other attire permitted
