Description
Registered Nurse - Infusion (Travel/Contract)
Location: Modesto, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Provide assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
- Deliver holistic, individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Facilitate patient/family education and transitions of care.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
- Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to ensure optimal patient experience.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Day (4x10 hours)
- Hours per day: 10
- Hours per week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, rotating weekends

Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience, including infusion experience.
- Oncology experience within the last year is required.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
- Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps, and employment verification up to 7 years.
- Professional references: 2 required within 3 years for clinical positions.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed series, or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination with mask requirement in patient care areas
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person, documented by licensed provider).
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually (exceptions apply).

- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Critical Care RN (CCRN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (may be required for some units)
- Pass/fail testing such as EKG exam for ICU and MS/Telemetry RNs at specific locations
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- Complete TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
- Submit a passport-style photo for badge issuance.
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccine exemptions; approvals handled on a case-by-case basis.
