Description

Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Towson, Maryland
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Shift: Days, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours


Job Description

  • Work in 2 Cath Labs and 1 Hybrid OR unit
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
  • Procedures include: IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, Structural interventions, PFO, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman
  • Equipment used: GE Innova IGS, Phillips, GE MacLab, EPIC, IVUS, FFR
  • On-call required: up to 10 weekdays (Mon-Thurs, 5 PM – 6 AM) and 3 weekends (Fri 5 PM – Mon 6 AM) per contract
  • Weekends and holidays required as scheduled

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab/interventional scrubbing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check: 7-year criminal history within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Employment verification: 7 years of work history required
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (one must be a supervisor/manager, one can be a charge RN if directly supervised)
  • Agency application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen (including Fentanyl) within 30 days of start (instant tests NOT accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers required within 72 hours of contract signing:
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (for 2025-26 season)
    • Tdap (if working with newborns, children, or ED)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
    • Hepatitis B: positive titer or declination (series not accepted)
  • TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 3 months or 2-step PPD as per facility policy, updated annually
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year of start, must be completed prior to start
  • Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, badge photo, and IT confidentiality agreement must be completed timely

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must sign the facility-specific job description and confidentiality agreements prior to start
  • Medication, pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and age-specific competency exams required as applicable, with minimum passing scores
  • Candidates must complete a respiratory protection questionnaire signed by a healthcare professional
  • Portfolio Epic training test-out form may be applicable depending on prior Epic experience
  • On-call and weekend requirements are mandatory and part of the contract expectations

This position offers a specialized Cath Lab RN role with a focus on interventional cardiology procedures, requiring strong clinical skills, certifications, and compliance with detailed credentialing and health documentation.
