Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

• Unit: 4 East, 30 beds
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Staffing includes Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians, and Case Management
• Equipment used: walkers, IV pumps, sequential compression devices (SCDs), etc.
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule, includes holiday rotation
• Floating: Rotation with other staff on unit
• Patient experience goal: 72% utilization of communication boards

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification

Skills and Experience

• Medical-Surgical experience including care for patients with respiratory diseases/illnesses, renal disease, gastrointestinal illnesses/diseases
• Experience with telemetry (Tele), central venous catheters (CVCs), indwelling catheters, and heparin drips (gtts)
