Description
Physical Therapist - Outpatient
Location: Florissant, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule options:
- Five 8-hour days, or
- Four 10-hour days (typical shift: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Weekly schedule includes 14 evaluations; remaining time dedicated to treatments
- Chart review time included:
- Twice daily for 30 minutes on 8-hour days
- Three times daily for 30 minutes on 10-hour days
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Facility is a free-standing outpatient clinic with one-on-one patient care
- Evaluation appointments scheduled for 60 minutes
- Treatment sessions typically 30 minutes, with some 45 or 60 minutes depending on patient needs
- Patient population: approximately 70% orthopedic, 30% neurological
- Specialty programs available include pelvic health, lymphedema, LSVT, chronic pain, and vestibular therapy
- Multidisciplinary team includes PTs, PTAs, OTs, and SLPs
- Epic electronic health record training provided during orientation
- Orientation: 1.5 days hospital orientation + 1.5 days department orientation, followed by patient load start with additional charting time during first 1-2 weeks
- Dress code: Business casual
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Missouri state license accepted; pending state license allowed
- Must be willing to work outside a 75-mile local radius
- No on-call or floating requirements
Patient Care Focus
- One-on-one outpatient therapy
- Variety of diagnoses, primarily orthopedic and neurological
- Collaboration with orthopedic medical providers for referrals
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification of highest related degree required before start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including specific drug panels, must be current throughout assignment
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education must be completed and updated annually
- Photo for badge required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
References and History
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Performance evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for extensions or per diem status
Orientation and Training
- Approximately 3 days of combined hospital and department orientation
- Epic EHR training provided
- Additional charting time during initial weeks

- No floating or on-call duties required
