Location

• Bridgeport, West Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend
• Holidays are worked into the rotation with permanent staff

Unit Details

• 36-bed MedSurg/Oncology post-op/telemetry unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Charge nurse is available 24/7; nights take patients
• 3 CNAs on days and 3 on nights
• Floating may be to any MedSurg/Tele unit

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Unexpired driver’s license copy must be included with submission
• 50-mile radius rule applies

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification

Clinical Experience / Patient Population

• General MedSurg patients
• Post-op patients, including lap chole and lap appy
• Oncology patients with complications such as neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections
• Patients with chest tubes, including PleurX chest tubes
• Occasional psych patients who may require 1:1 sitter support

Unit Equipment / Responsibilities

• Heparin is the only drip used
• CPAP and BiPAP are managed by respiratory therapy
• Phillips monitors are used

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• No false nails
