Job Overview

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Schedule notes: Every other weekend as required; no call

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiac Stepdown (1 year of experience)
Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
Experience in an Inpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications

NIHSS certification

Unit Details

32 beds
Typical patient ratio: 1:3–1:4
Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Common equipment includes chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs

Patient Population

Post-op CABG/valve patients
Thoracotomies
Respiratory failure
Chest pain

Work Environment

Night shift orients on day shift
Traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
High physical demands, including standing/walking most of the time and lifting/turning patients with assistance
Exposure to blood and body fluids
