Description

Medical ICU RN

Location

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

  • 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • Evening shift
  • Traditional weekday plus weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

  • Active Indiana RN license
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification

Preferred

  • Travel experience
  • Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience
  • 2 years of ICU experience

Unit Details

  • Mixed-acuity ICU/Progressive Care setting
  • Travelers may float to other ICU, Progressive Care, and Med-Surg units
  • Patient ratios may range from 1:2 to 1:4 depending on acuity and transfers

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Care for ventilated and critically ill patients
  • Initiate and titrate IV drips, including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Assist with intubations and line placement
  • Monitor patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia

Additional Notes

  • Non-billable orientation: 8 hours
  • Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a reduced local rate
  • Facility may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
