Contract Length

Schedule

• Day rotation, Monday–Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Typically starts between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Shift pattern may be 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts
• Call may be required up to 3 shifts per week, ranging from 8 to 16 hours
• One working weekend every 4 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• CVOR (1 year of experience)
• CVOR experience within the last year
• OR - Operating Room experience
• Experience with Epic
• NBSTSA
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• CCRN
• Unit-specific relevant skills certification as required by the assigned home unit

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management
• Administer medications safely
• Support staffing, time management, supplies, and service utilization
• Participate in shared governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review
• Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
• Support new employees and students
• Perform charge nurse or shift coordinator duties when assigned

Clinical Focus

• Cardiothoracic experience, including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest procedures
