Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Speech & Language Pathologist license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility

Key Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology services to support residents’ function and independence
• Perform evaluation and treatment for communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow
• Develop and adjust therapeutic plans of care with functional goals
• Consult with physicians and the care team regarding therapeutic and discharge needs
• Document evaluations, treatments, and resident responses to teaching
• Recommend and obtain communication and swallowing assistive devices
• Provide resident and caregiver education
• Support in-services, program development, coverage coordination, and infection control practices

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Two-person lift required for anything over 50 pounds
